Compress image to 10 KB
10 KB is a very small file, about the size of a short text document. Forms usually ask for it for signatures or small thumbnail photos.
Compress your photo
Your result appears here
We check the size against your limit before you download. Nothing is uploaded.
Getting a good 10 KB photo
- Crop tightly before you start. A signature on a wide white page wastes most of those 10 KB on empty paper.
- Expect a small picture, a few hundred pixels across. That is normal at this size and is what the form expects.
- For a signature, use dark ink on plain white paper, and take the photo in good light. Clean contrast compresses best.
How it works
- Choose your photo. A JPG, PNG or WebP from your phone or computer.
- Type the limit from your form. If it says “between 20 KB and 50 KB”, enter 20 and 50.
- Download. You get a JPG that fits, usually within a second or two.
Your photo never leaves your device
The compression runs inside your browser. Your photo is not uploaded to any server, so nobody else can see it. That matters for ID photos and signatures. See how to check it yourself.
Tips for application forms
- Copy the numbers exactly as the form states them. Forms reject a file that is even 1 KB over the limit.
- If the form gives a pixel size, such as 350 × 450, open More options and enter it.
- If the form mentions 300 DPI, enter 300 in the DPI box. It changes a label inside the file, not the photo.
- For a very small limit, crop the photo close to the face or signature first. Less background leaves more detail for what matters.
Questions
Will my photo lose quality?
Some, as with any compression. We test several combinations of pixel size and quality and keep the one that looks best while staying under your limit.
Why is the file a little under my limit?
We aim for 95–100% of the limit, so the file is never over it. A form will accept 48 KB when the limit is 50 KB.
My form needs at least 20 KB. Can you make a file bigger?
Yes. Enter the minimum in the first box. If the photo is too small, we raise the quality first. If it is still under, we add harmless padding inside the file. The photo looks exactly the same.
What does the exact pixel size option do?
It resizes the photo to those pixels. If the shape is different, we crop from the centre so nothing gets stretched.
Which files can I use?
JPG, PNG and WebP. The result is always a JPG, which every form accepts.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark.
