About CompressDrop

Online application forms often reject a photo with a message like “File size must be between 20 KB and 50 KB”. CompressDrop exists to fix that in one step: choose the photo, type the limit, download a file that fits.

Everything runs inside your browser. Your photo is never uploaded, which is why the tool works the same for an ID photo, a signature or a holiday picture. See how it works, and how to check it yourself.

Under the hood it uses MozJPEG, an open-source encoder that makes smaller JPG files at the same quality. It also tries several combinations of pixel size and quality, then keeps the best one under your limit.
